Sebastian Auernig – new World President

On Thursday morning, the General Assembly of the World Simmental Federation was held. World President Fred Schuetze from the United States welcomed the participants and thanked the Austrian organising team for hosting this year’s Congress.

Dr Josef Kučera presented the changes in the General Secretariat in WSFF. Kristýna Skopalová from the Czech Republic has been leading the Secretariat since 2008 and will change her career. Kučera expressed great thanks to her on behalf of the WSFF for her work. Blanka Dřízhalová will take over the General Secretariat in the future.

In the new elections Sebastian Auernig – after being elected European President yesterday – was now also elected World President and together with 1st Vice-President Peter Wenn from Australia and 2nd Vice-President Daniel Espinosa from Colombia he forms the new governing body of the World Simmental Federation.

A series of interesting lectures followed and in the afternoon the excursions led on the one hand to the Simmental breeding farm Milchhof Steiner and on the other hand to the farms Frühwald (Simmental cattle in meat production) and the fattening farm Roch.
